Kali Mata Mandir was established in August of 1994. It was named so by Guru Gulshan Singh who was it's founder and motivating force. Guru Singh is a humble devotee of Maha Kali. The word Maha Mata translates to mother. Kali means the energy of time.

Mandir translates to abode. At the Kali Mata Mandir we teach Maha Kali 's principles, teachings and practices. Maha Kali is a Devi who has two sides. One of which is a compassionate, most wonderful Mother of Our Universe. The other side to her characteristics is the destroyer of all evil. Maha Kali has an infinite amount of shakti (energy, power), and uses it when she is angered by injustices, sins or prejudices. Its force is indescribable.

However in this day and age Maha Kali has gained an insulting reputation. Maha Kali is described as a bloodthirsty goddess of death and destruction with 4 arms who lives in a graveyard. This stereotype has spurred to greater misunderstandings and has been poorly portrayed by films and books where peoples imaginations have been falsely fired up with fiction. Maha Kali is said to be given blood sacrifices, human and animal.

In the 21st century the sacrificial knives are still rising and falling with monotonous regularity. In our world where India is becoming a more modern continent and where western influence and opinions are gradually changing.

SUPPORTING THE COMMUNITY

Guruji is dedicated to helping lesser fortunate human beings and his mission in life is to banish Homelessness, on a national and international scale.

This job he has undertaken with such enthusiasm and sincerity, that it overtakes leading a normal life in comparison to you and I. Guruji is a remarkable person and has amazing strengths spiritually and physically to maintain his vocation.

He has a wife, who works alongside him and four grown up children with two grandchildren.

Guruji was also a skeptical man about religion until a time in his life where the Great Durga Mata came to him in a dream depicting that he help the Homeless in London. From a working professional, slowly after this vision his life began to change and he became Guruji, although some people address him by the name of Babaji.
