The word Maha Mata translates to mother, Kali means the energy of time, Mandir translates to abode. At the Kali Mata Mandir we teach Maha Kali 's principles, teachings and practices.

Maha Kali is a Devi who has two sides. One of which is a compassionate, most wonderful Mother of Our Universe. The other side to her characteristics is the destroyer of all evil. Maha Kali has an infinite amount of shakti (energy, power), and uses it when she is angered by injustices, sins or prejudices. Its force is indescribable.

However, in this day and age Maha Kali has gained an insulting reputation. Maha Kali is described as a bloodthirsty goddess of death and destruction with 4 arms who lives in a graveyard. This stereotype has spurred to greater misunderstandings and has been poorly portrayed by films and books where people's imaginations have been falsely fired up with fiction. Maha Kali is said to be given blood sacrifices, human and animal. In the 21st century the sacrificial knives are still rising and falling with monotonous regularity. In our world where India is becoming a more modern continent and where western influence and opinions are gradually changing

It is in disbelief that we find that these sacrifices are still being held. Some devotees of Maha Kali uphold this tradition too. These people who partake in this are IDIOTS. What Mother in her right mind would offer or accept a bloody sacrifice?

We worship Maha Kali as the Mother of the whole creation and we the creatures, are the children of Maha Kali Maa.

Maha Kali is also supposedly associated with the Thugees ( English equivalent of a thug ), a cult who where forcefully suppressed by the British during the days of empire. These Thugees, were non-Hindus who portrayed the Goddess Kali as their tutelary deity. They were bandits who pilfered, robbed and murdered travelers, where eventually their downfall was depicted when they started murdering women too. Again in history Maha Kali pre -dated the Thugees by possibly several thousand years.

The Maha Kali teaching are simple.

1.) HUMANITY is our caste      2.) UNCONDITIONAL LOVE is our religion      3.) FROM THE HEART is how we want to conduct ourselves.
